Week 4- Challenge
Objective, Cad model image, Procedure with required images, Results and Final model image
OBJECTIVE:- To create 1-D elements from a simple bracket using the given data such as cross-section and DOF for Bar,rods and beams.
CAD MODEL:-
PROCEDURE:-
1. Importing the .hm file from the computer to Hyperworks graphics page using Import icon on the top left corner of the screen.
2. Using AUTOCLEANUP option we will be cleaning all the split lines.(Geom>autocleanup>create)
3. Creating washer splits on the circular surface for even meshing around the the circle. (geom>quick edit>washer split>off set value=2> create)
4. Using AUTOMESH we will be meshing the given 1d elements into small elements. ( 2d>automesh>create)
5. Create rbe2 & rbe3 link in the circles a,b&c using the options. ( for RBE2 link follow the steps 1d>rigid>dof selection>select nodes>create,for rbe3 link the steps are 1d>rbe3>dof selection>select nodes>create).
6. Applying a mass of magnitude 10 around rbe2 link on circle d & e.
7. Joining the two brackets using a spring element at f ( 1d>spring> select dof >create )
8. Creating a rod element at 'a' with BOX like cross-section in HYPERBEAM with the given dimentions
9. Creating a beam element at 'b' with I-cross section in HYPERBEAM with the given dimentions
10. Creating a bar element a 'c' with CROSS-cross section in HYPERBEAM with the given dimentions
11. To see the given cross section click on 1D DETAIL ELEMENT REPRESENTATION icon located below the graphics bar.
All the mention parameters are selected and executed successfully.
