1. WASHING MACHINE

Procedure:

1:To operate a washing machine, a constant power supply and water supply are needed. Thus, we use two constant blocks to provide a positive signal value of 1 to turn on the power and water using a toggle switch.

2:Different functionalities in the washing machine are defined using a State flow chart which consists of states and transitions to different states after a certain interval of event time. The State flow charts consist of 7 states declared for different operations.

3: when the input power supply and water supply is positive then the different process in washing such as [soaking][washing][rinsing][drying]and end of the process.

4:Each stable state is changed after a few seconds of compilation using the transition to the destination state. The transition takes place after the events that occurred in the previous states. Finally, a finished state is defined to alert the user that the process is completed.

5: Output from the State flow chart from each state is connected to the display and display blocks are connected to the lamp block to signal the light indicating the current function of the machine in the process.

2. GEAR SHIFT LOGIC

Procedure:

1: Here we have to shift the gears according to the speed condition of the vehicle. Thus, to specify the speed condition State flow chart is used. The Simulink model has two input ports, a) Whether the engine is turned ON or OFF, and b) the Throttle speed from the driver. These inputs are fed to the state flow chart.

2: If the Engine is turned ON, then the engine lamp turns ON. The throttle speed is given with the help of a slider block from the dashboard in the library.

3: Based on the speed fed to input is checked and each state in the chart represents a particular gear. The state is changed only if the speed is true for the condition given in the transition.

4: The first state accepts the input about the ignition of the engine and if the condition is true, then the gear is initially halted in the neutral position. When the speed is greater than zero and the condition is satisfied for the transition to first gear.

5:The same process continues to other higher gear shifts. The speed is continuously varied, thus if the speed is reduced then the reverse transition condition is satisfied and there is a step-down in the gear.

6:There is a special condition where the speed is less than zero, the gear is automatically stepped to reverse. Also, if the speed is zero, then the gear reset to neutral.

7: The output of the gears indicating which gear is engaged at the moment is indicated using the display block, and the headlamps indicate a blue color if the gear is engaged and a red light if the reverse gear is engaged.
