Week 3 Sheet metal Bending challenge
OBJECTIVE :
To perform a sheet bending simulation for different materials and to compare the results.
METHODOLOGY:
- First add the given non linear materials to the engineering data and import the geometry.
- assaign the suitable materials to the geometry aluminium alloy NL for the sheet.

- define the frictional contact between punch and sheet and sheet and die.

- apply the mesh to the bodies and perform the body sizing and face sizing.

- perform the analysis in 10 steps and ensure that the large deflection is on .
- give the displacement to the punch and ensure that the sheet displaces through the direction of punch only and restrict the displacement of die in all directions.

- run the simulation and compare the result for different materials.
- run the simulation for the above mentioned cases by applying the same procedure.
CASE 1:aluminium alloy nl

copper alloy nl

magnesium alloy nl

CASE 2:

CASE 3:

CONCLUSION:
aluminium alloy non linear show better results for friction value of 0.1 than for 0.19
