Challenge

Week - 3 Drop test Challenge

Aim:To simulate the given model that consistsof the couple of parts by make the surface to surface contact interface by alloting the the particular constraints to avoid th error termination.

Procedure:

*Browse the file with .k extension in the pre processor tab and then find the parts and rename as per to your better understanding.

*

you will find the tab as above now we have to allot the section and material cards to each part the below sectioncard is referable

*These selection the entities is to be picked by selecting the part ands assign thickness the phone part is solid and the base is shell and lower base is solid section and assign these section card to the part after creating.

*Contact interface surface to surface is created by selecting the master type and slave type and select the master and the slave by select the method by part.

*Allot the initial vel. card by producing the velocity towards -z direction to the slave i.e phone.

*Mat card is to be created elastic and rigid cards and mention the density, youngs modulus, poisons ratios of the material and assign these cards to the part

above can be ref. for the all the constraints to be created

*Similarly like database and control card for termination and runthe simulation in the post processesor

*Now open the D3plot file that will be created and mark the von mises stresses and it will be similar to the below

image

conclusion:Hence by following by these type of process like crerating the all required constraints and making th entitioes to function in such a way to make the simulation to be done with out any failure or error termination and achieve the required result.
