Week - 3 Drop test Challenge

Week 3 Report

Aim: use the model provided to complete the simulation of drop test.

Explaination：Since we have two parts: cell phoneand wall. So at first we need to create material and section

Material of cell phone:

Give an initial velocity to cell phone:

Create contact between cell phone and wall:

Set fixed boundary to wall:

Set control card-termination time

Database-binary plot and ASCII option

Finally run the simulation and see result file. We can see cell phone drop down and bounce back to the wall.

Conslusion:

1. Always have the nessary key words to run

2. Don't need to run simulation of how phone drops, give a small distance between phone and wall to start.

3. Phone doesn't break because of its material properties such as young's module and poisson's ratio.

4. We can use Post Tool to check stress and strain.
