Week - 4 - 2D meshing for Plastic components

Report:

Provide Aim: to extract midsurface for the solid and create mesh for it.

Procedure: 1. create mid surface for 2 cylinders. 2. create mid surface for ribs. 3. create mid surface for threads 4. create mid surface for teeth. 5. create midsurface for bottom part. 6. set up mesh quality creatia and mesh target. 7. mesh the midsurface.

Learning Outcomes: To my understanding, there are 3 ways to extract midsurface: 1. offset 2. middle-single

3. middle-multiple. Although there is auto mid function but I don't think it always works. If the thickness is same, I use offset. If not, use middle function. There are sometimes features both middle single and multiple don't work, so I need to use curve and built new surfaces.

Conclusion: This assignment is hard to me. To extract surface took me long time. Some features are not easy to build midsurface. Another difficulty is mesh. I don't know how to mesh in some small and complicated area, especially there are tripple cons. I hope there is detailed explanation for the solution, it is better there is video tuturials. How to deal with different thickness is another question. And geometry always has crack on it, don't know why. What is the quick way to finish this part.
