Week- 5 - Solid meshing

Report

Provide Aim: create 3d solid mesh (tetra mesh) for the part

Procedure:

1. Geometry clean up

2. Set up mesh quality criteria.

2D mesh:

1

Target/Average length

1

2

Minimum Length

0.5

3

Maximum Length

2

3D mesh:

Tet collapse 0.2

3. Use spot mesh to create 2d mesh for each part. Use Ortho Tria for curved surfaces, use Tria for plane surfaces. Check mesh quality to meet criteria: min and max lenghth

4. Create 4 volume for each part. Use Tetra Rapid to create 3d mesh for them. Check mesh quality to meet criteria: Tet collapse

Learning Outcomes: I learned how to create 3d mesh and how to use different tria mesh in different situation

Conclusion: We need to create 2d mesh before 3d mesh. Use Ortho Tria for curved surfaces, use Tria for plane surfaces. Both 2d and 3d mesh should meet their mesh quality criteria
