CFD meshing on Turbocharger

Aim: To do the CFD meshing on turbocharger.

Objective: to perform the TOPO, classic meshing and volumetric mashing to the given model.

Procedure:

Step 1:

Extract the model from the saved file.

Do the TOPO clean for the model by deleting the unnecessary surface and face to the blanked surface.

And ensure the all the triple cons and need or not.

Step 2:

After done with the TOPO and ensure the that our model is full covered with surfaces to assign PID’S.

Assigning the PID’S to the model and differential the PID’S with different colour and names as shown below.

Step 3:

Next step is to do the meshing to the model with different mesh lengths

  1. Blade stage-1 = 1 mm
  2. Blade stage-2 = 1 mm
  3. Impeller = 2 mm
  4. Shaft rotor = 1 mm
  5. Turbo casing = 5 mm
  6. Compressor casing = 5 mm
  7. Inlet casing cover = 5 mm

After meshing ensure if any unmeshed surface are left.

Step4:

Last and final step and important is volumetric meshing is done by V MESH

In that define the model to be v mesh delete the parent body.

Ensure that our model only with inner surface with fluid is contact with

After that go to the tetra CFD to the model do the re-mesh for the define PID‘S

After that review the volumetric mesh if any surface is un meshed.

This the final model which is fully meshed turbocharge modle.
