Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
Question 1:
Aim: Observing For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle.
Steps:
1. Open the advisor tool.
2. Change the load file to EV_defaults_in
3. Change the cargo mass to be 500kg and continue.
4. Change the duty cycle to be cyc_FTP
5. Change the no.of duty cycle to be 3. Here the distance for 1 cycle is 17.77 km so for the three cycles it would be 53.31 km and it's characteristics are observed.

Obesrvation:
After the above changes the following results are observed

Here, the vehicle had only travelled for 41.4 Km after that the battery doesnot have any charge in it to continue the journey.
Question 2:
Aim:For the above case change the battery capacity and observe its characteristics.
Steps:
1. Open the advisor tool.
2. Change the load file to EV_defaults_in
3. Change the #of mod for the change of the battery capaity.
Case 1: Change the mod of Vnom to be 5V

Here, the battery module capacity is changed to 5V and the car is able to cover a distance of 16.4km but the duty cycle is covered a distance of 17.77km. So it can't reach the required distance.
Case 2: Change the mod of Vnom to be 15V and change the duty cycle to be of 2 cycles

Here, The car is able to cover a distance of 24.8 km.
Observation:
From the above it is observed that the battery capacity should change according to the distance to be covered by the vehicle. For high distances requires more battery capacity to reach the distance.
Question 3:
Aim:To Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file.
Steps:
1. Open the advisor tool.
2. Change the load file to PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in and continue
3. Move to duty cycle window. In that select the greadability and speed is changed accordingly the characteristics are observed.
Case 1: Speed= 20mph

Here, it is observed that for 20mph the gradability is 19.8%
Case 2: Speed =55mph

Here, for the speed of 55 mph the gradeability is 8.9%
Case 3: Speed =70 mph

here for a spped of 70mph the gradeability is 6.3%
Conclusion:
| Speed(mph) | Gradeability(%) |
| 20 | 19.8 |
| 55 | 8.9 |
| 70 | 6.3 |
So from above it is observed that as the speed increases the gradeability decreases. So the gradeability is inversly proportional to speed of the car
