Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

NOTE- THIS IS EV LIVE BATCH 21.

Ans-1:-

Open the advisor file by matlab command window.

Give command as advisor and press enter then advisor window will open and hit on start button ,it will start-

As according to question load file as EV_defaults_in and change the cargo mass 500kg and remaining parameter is same as default.

Ater this hit on continue button and change the drive cycle as CYC_FTP and for number of cycle 1 and press run button-

After hitting run button result will be in a new window as follows-

For 1 drive cycle-

As from result we can see that in 1 drive cycle ,total distance cover by vehicle is 17.8 Km with 40% batter power consumption.

For 2 drive cycle-

From above result we can see that for two drive cycle total distance cover is 35.5 Km and power consuption is about 80%.

For 3 drive cycle-

As from above result fig.,we can conclude that the maximum distance cover by vehicle is 41.4Km and battery power goes to zero. There is also showing a warning that required distance exceeded EV range.

So Maximum distance cover with the fully charged battery 41.4Km. Vehicle can not move till 45Km with the same capacity of battery.

Ans-2:-

As from above result ,we get that maximum distance cover by vehicle is 41.4Km with full power cunsumption of battery.

To increase the range ,we have increase the battery power-

By increasing the battery power from 25 to 40 as result voltage changes 308 to 493.

After this, hit run button we can see that in the same drive cycle total distance cover by vehicle is 53.3Km.

Result-

By increasing the capacity of vehicle ,the vehicle range can be increase.

Ans-3:-

On opening advisor, 'PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in' load file-

Then hit run button,a new window will pop up-

Click on gradeability test and go in grade option. A new window of grade test advanced option will open-

Change the speed and time and click on all system enabled ,then OK.

Afert running the model,we will get the different gradeability with different speed on fix time.

case-1- when speed is 25mph and time is 30sec-

at speed 25mph ,gradeability is 20.4%.

case-2- when speed is 35mph and time is 30sec-

at speed 35mph ,gradeability is 16.7%.

case-3- when speed is 45mph and time is 30sec-

at speed 45mph ,gradeability is 14.1%.

and so on by changing different speed the differenr gradeability will obtain. A table is shown as follows

Result-

As we can see that as the speed is increasing the gradeability is decreasing.
