1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.

For mass of 500 kg

EV_defaults_in file is opened and value has been inserted.

Drive cycle has been changed to CYC_FTP

When the advisor tool is runned.

It is evident from above that vehicle run for a distance of 17.8 km,the vehicle cannot run for 45km in a single charge. Also SOC has reached zero just before 2500sec.

2.changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

Here the battery capacity has been changed

Keeping the drive cycle constant the output obtained was

Here the distance travelled by the vehicle is 17.8 km

The SOC discharge rate has changes which is close to 0.83 in 2500sec unlike 0 in the last simulation.

In order for SOC to reach 0 drive cycle has to run 10 times.

After 10 cycle the SOC has reached 0 at approximately 13500sec. By that time the vehicle has travelled 96km.

3.gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file.

PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file has been loaded in the screen

In order to adjust the gradeability click continue.

The speed was fixed at 55mph

For 55mph, the gradeability obtained was 1.7%.

Speed was adjusted to 45mph, and the gradeability obtained was 2.2%.

The speed was adjusted to 30mph, the gradeability obtained was 2.5 %.

It is clearly evident that when speed is increased the gradeability decreases.
