Aim :- ADVISOR Tool (Week - 3)
Objective :-
1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.
2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.
3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file
Compare your results in table and conclude.

Benefits of using ADVISOR Tool :-
Procedure to start ADVISOR tool:-
PART 1 :- For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.
Answer :-
Drive Cycle FTP for 1 no. of cycle :-
Drive Cycle FTP for 2 no. of cycle :-
Drive Cycle FTP for 3 no. of cycle :-
Conclusion :-
PART 2 :- In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.
1] Total 2 nos. of FTP Drive Cycles :-
i) Energy storage system with 26 modules & 2 Drive Cycles :-
ii) Energy storage system with 27 modules & 2 Drive Cycles :-
iii) Energy storage system with 28 modules & 2 Drive Cycles :-
iv) Energy storage system with 29 modules & 2 Drive Cycles :-
Taking into consideration of increasing the Battery modules for total 2 nos. of FTP Drive cycles, we noted that even after increasing the battery modules, total distance covered by vehicle remains constant i.e. 35.5 km. SOC of battery is still approximately 0.3.
The table is as under;

CONCLUSION :-
PART 3 :- Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file. Compare your results in table and conclude
i) Speed = 30 mph, Time = 10s& Cycle = CYC_UDDS :-
ii) Speed = 40 mph` Time = 10s& Cycle = CYC_UDDS :-
iii) Speed = 50 mph` Time = 10s& Cycle = CYC_UDDS :-
iv) Speed = 60 mph` Time = 10s& Cycle = CYC_UDDS :-
Conclusion :-
While going through the above table, we noted that as soon as input vehicle speed increases, Gradeability(%) decreases gradually.
