Q2: In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

Q3: Perform gradeability trst with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file.

Q1:A1: ADVISOR TOOL FOR SIMULINK:

1. ADVISOR, NREL's Advanced vehicle simulator, is a set of model, data, and script text files for use with matlab and simulink. It is designed for rapid analysis of the performance and fuel economy of conventional, electric, and hybrid vehicles.
2. ADVISOR also provides a backbone for the detailed simulation and analysis of user-defined drivetrain components, a starting point of verified vehicle data and algorithms from which to take full advantage of the modeling flexibility of simulink and analytic power of MATLAB.
3. mostly emperical, relaying on drivetrain component input/output relationships measured in the laboratory, and quasi-static, using data collected in steady-state( for example, constant torque and speed) tests and correcting them for transient effects such as the rotational inertia of drivetrain components.

Now open the ADVISOR Tool in MATLAB. Search for 'EV_ defaults_in' file from load file and select that file to open. Now change the CARGO Mass in given input (500 kg). Then click to continue after simulink parametrs opened after, change the drive cycle CYC_UDDS to CYC_FTP after give the cycles input 3 no. Now click the RUN button to get the RESULT.

A1 Result :

• No, The vehicle cannot travel for 45 km with FTP Drive cycle. because in increase of cargo mass to 500 kg, the vehicle can only travel upto 41.4 km.
• So increase in weight leads to loss in power to travel the greater distance.

Q2: A2: Open the ADVISOR tool and click start to open the vehicle input in ADVISOR Simulator. Search for 'EV_defaults_in' file from load file and click the file to open. Now change some parameters which present in 'EV_defaults_in' file, Like Cargo mass to 500 kg, And Change in BATTERY CAPACITY. If the battery capacity is above 25 modules: which is 30 Modules. The vehicle gets more distance travelled Because the battery capacity is power or storage that the vehicle is defend on to travel the certain distance. If energy is more the distance travelled more, and if the energy is less the distance travelled by vehicle is less. Here the 25 modules are taken as default data value in battery capacity.

Q3; A3: Open the ADVISOR tool and click start to open the vehicle input ADVISOR Simulator. Search for 'PRIUS_JPN_defaults_in' file from load and selct the file to open. Then click the Continue button After opened Simulation parameters after change the Drive cycle in CYC_UDDS to CYC_FTP. Now Perform the Gradeability test. After change the Enable/ disable systems in 'Energy storage disabled' to 'all systems enabled' after select 'ok' button. Then click the RUN button for getting results. By varying the speed value which is given below from Simulink result for Gradeability we got the values that present in screenshots .
