Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1

1. Download the advisor tool of the zip file from the module.

2.Click on the advisor tool an extract the unzipped the files and give the directory path of the downloaded advisor tool file.

3.Start the matlab and type the advisor in the matlab command window click on the run icon and add to the path.

4. Click on the saved model files and select the EV_default_in file. The advisor tool of the GUI is opened. In this GUI we will assign the cargo mass of 500. Click on continue.

5. Another GUI is open in this we will assign the driving cycle. select the Drive cycle from scroll down button on the drive cycle select the CYC_FTP.

6.Click on the cycle 2 i had assigned and click on the run button. The output waveform is obtained and the distance is travelled is 35.5km.

7. The state of charge(SOC) is decreases from 1 to 0.1 of the value as shown in the waveform.

8. The cycle 1 i had assigned and click on the run button. The distance is travelled is 17.8km the time seconds are reduced to half i.e nearly 2500 sec.

9. The state of charge (SoC) is decreases from 1 to 0.6 of the value as shown in the waveform.

10.The 45km of the speed of the vehicle is above 10 to 15% of the total driving cycle.

11.The single cycle stage i had gone through the diffferent waveform patterns , like the temp , pwr_loss, torque out. i had noticed and the screen shots of the waveforms are submitted.

2.

In this GUI we will assign the different types of energy storage like Lead acid(Pb), Lithium-ion(li),Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH), Ultracapacitors(cap), Nickel Cadmium(Nicad), NickelZinc(NiZn).

5. By using the above energy storage elements the waveforms are plotted and submitted.

6.The energy storage elements are different type different type of vehicles purposes may be used. In the ultracapacitor the torque output will be in the pulses.

7. The drive cycle and the cargo masses are not changed the initial is FTP drive cycle and the 500kg of the cargo mass is assigned.

8.With the different types of the battery capacity the vehicle mass is also changes. According to that changes i made a excel sheet.

3.

1. Download the advisor tool of the zip file from the module.

2.Click on the advisor tool an extract the unzipped the files and give the directory path of the downloaded advisor tool file.

3.Start the matlab and type the advisor in the matlab command window click on the run icon and add to the path.

4. Click on the saved model files and select the PRIUS_Jpn file . The advisor tool of the GUI is opened. Click on continue.

5. Another GUI is open in this CYC_UDDS in this the gradeabiltiy test we will assign.

6. By clicking on the gradeability test icon a new window will open in that the test conditions are given.

7. The test conditions are basic parameters grade ,speed,Duration, gear number,enable/disable systems, Fuel converter, Energy storage, Mass parameters,Speed tolerance,Grade limits and stepsize, maximum iterations.

8.In the grade test advanced options we will assign the values of the grade and the speeds.

9. After assigning the values we will click on the run icon. the output of the waveform is obtained and the grdeability test is 120.7kmph at 5% grade.

10. After repeating the grade values of 2% 5% and 7% the gradeability is different we will get.

11.The output waveform of the screen shorts are submitted.
