Week 3 - 2D meshing for sheet metal
Aim :
To mesh the hood component with given quality criteria by using ANSA software.
Objective :
The main goal is to create midsurface of the given component and to mesh the component using ANSA.
Procedure :
To create midsurface for the component to apply mesh.
Before doing midsurface geometry checks is to be done and fix the errors.

Then the meshing is to done by using the mesh generation menu best mesh and the element size is for 5 units and we choose mixed elements for meshing.
The meshing process is done using splitting the surface by using cut face option and meshing the adjacent surface.
The main thing is the elements should not fail for the given quality criteria and the number of trias are to be reduced.

With the help of parent geometry we assign the thickness property to the components.

In this project there are four components to be meshed and the size variance will be from small to large components.
By working on the different size components we learn to explore many menu and options in the software.
We use transform option if the component has symmetrical surface.
The meshed components with quality criteria attached below for reference.

Result :
In the process of learning and working on different tools in the software the meshing of components is done successfully with satisfying the given quality criteria.
The components are meshed and satisfied the given quality criteria successfully by exploring many menu and options by using ANSA software.
