Week 2 Railwheel and Track
Aim-Perform a static structural analysis on the Railwheel and Track setup and to compare the results fpr 1e+005 N and 5 e+005 N of the bearing load.
Objective -To set the case for reil and whell track for the load of the 1e+5N and for 5e+N of the load and to comapre the equivalent stress,Total deformation and the equivalent strain for the both loads.
Procedure-
1.Select the strructral from the ansys GUI.
2.Let the material be structural steel .
3.We import thr geometry in the spaceclaim.
4.we rename the compoments as shaft ,wheeel and the track.we have the contact between the rail wheel and track and other contact between the shaft and wheel and we rename by the based on the contact.we apply the frictional contact to the wheel and the rail track and coefficient of friction of 0.3 and we apply frictioless contact beween the wheel and the shaft.

5.we will mesh the compment by 50 mm and we apply the face sizing bewteen the wheel and track sice we have interst to calculate the results at their point of the contact and we apply mesh size of 35mm.

5. Next is to apply joints for the compoments first we will fix the track by apply fixed joint to track and we apply the transational joint to the shaft which will transkate in z direction and we make sure that axis selected in the Z direction. and we apply the planar joint to the wheel.

6.In analyse section we use total 5 steps i,e we diveide the dispalcements in 5 intervals .and large deflevtion should be on .
7.We give Dispalce ment to the transational joint i.e for the shaft and we apply to the baering load of 1e+5N in the first casad 5e+5N in the second case at small face of the wheel in negative Y direction.

Fig5 Total Deformation for 1e+5n
| LOad | Total Deformation(Min and max) | Equivalent stress(min and max) | Equivalent strain(min and max) | |
| 1e+5N | 504.86 and 2,84e3e-14 | 91.53 and 3.12e-10 | 0.00057816 and 3.3412e-10 | |
| 5E+5N | 505.83 and 1.1369e-13 | 334.2 and 1.042e-9 | 0.0021997 and 1.2359e-14 |
Coclusion From above table as the load increases the Equivalent stress and Equivalent strain increses in large value but there is small amount change in the Total deformation.
