Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
Aim: Mesh the model with 3 different mesh size.
Procedure:
1. Open the model in Ansa.

2. Use orient to fix the geometry normals.

3. Do geometry check and fix the surface by creating the surface.

4. Create properth and mov the components to different pid.

4. Mesh the model 1 mm mesh size.

5. Save the Model and erase the mesh and mesh the model with 3 and 5 mm mesh size.

3 MM mesh size.

5 mm mesh size.

Conclusion:
- A mesh size of 1mm will be more suitable compared to 5mm and 3mm due to the accuracy of capturing the exact profiles of the spring and head which are without any distortion of the surfaces. This also verifies that when the length of the mesh exceeds the size of any geometric entity, it tends to distort the geometry, which can lead to a misinterpretation of the physics going on at that location, and can also cause an error when transforming information from neighboring cells.
- As the mesh size becomes finer, the number of cells increases rapidly. So different mesh size for different components will be suitable to avoid using more computing resources and computing cost. 1 mm for spring and 3 mm on other component.
