Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

AIM: - To topology cleanup for the given model and check geometry cleanupand set three

different target lengths as three different cases for mesh the model.

Procedure: - The model given shown in figure to clean model like fill hole or create new surface.

Select new option for create new surface shown in figure below.

to check geometry for any error like single cons and crack surface etc.

as shown in figure.

This below figure triple cons is valid in this case because three surface meet.

Topo cleanup is shown in figure using cut option.

To assign PID as shown in figure in below.

Create new pid as shown in figure in below.

change color as shown in figure in below.

apply pid on required faces as shown in figure .

final assign pid shown in figure in bolow model.

All pid name shown in figure below.

Case 1: - To give the target length in below figure as shown.

Result: - A good mesh flow as shown in figure.

Case2: - To give give target length as shown in figure.

Result: - A good mesh flow in some part and bed mesh flow in some part

as shown in figure.

Case: - A good mesh flow on larger face but not mentain,

All most bed mesh flow in all part as shown in figure.

Conclusion: - The target length is not to be beyond the part length.

in spring case dia is approx 3mm to 3.5mm so fail quality of mesh in case2 and case3

because target length is 3mm and 5 mm.

Learning Outcomes: - Most importent is to give valid pid on model and target length is not to beyond and equal to edge length/ dia of any part.
