Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
AIM:
To check for the geometrical errors and perform Topology cleanup accordingly. Set three different target lengths as three different cases and mesh the model.
Objective:
We have to assign three different target lengths as three different cases and mesh the model.
Target length = 1mm, 3 mm and 5 mm (i.e. 3 cases)
Element type = Tria
Given geometry image:

Above the given geometry having the many single cons error so we have correct and clean up before meshing.
Geometry checkup:
Geometry checkup option is used to show the single con error and double con errors.

This image is represents the how many single cons error present in the given geometry

We have to use the topo cleanup option is used to clean the surface and it is used to clean the single cons error
and also used to fill the holes in given geometry.

SINGLE CONS:
This all shows the open spaces in the geometry, to overcome them we have to fill them before meshing to fill the holes, we can use New command from face dropdown, in which we can new faces on the holes in the geometry

The given geomerty having many holes so we have to use different method to fill this kind of holes
so we have to use fill hole option is used to fill the small holes.
Loop option is used to fully select the particular region.
ENT option is used to set one by one

Once we complete the topo clean up afterthat we have to move next meshing process.
We have to assigned the PIDS because it is mainly used to separate the given geometry parts and it is also used to easily identify the parts and meshing.

MESHING:
Target length 5mm
Minimum length = 3mm
Maximum length = 7mm

This is how it looks from outside shape is good enough to make an overall calculation may be the accuracy will not be that good but it can be enough to make calculations but when we look at the smaller part in the geometry it may have loosed it shape as the mesh size is big for them
Perimeter is used to assigned the mesh length and macros also.
Spot mesh option is used to generete the mesh when select the particular geometry

As you can see as we look into the smaller part of geometry the shape is not that sharp and accurate the spring has lost its shape completely

MESHING:
Target length 3mm
Minimum length = 1mm
Maximum length = 5mm

As the number of cell increases the time for calculation increases so the cell size should be according to the required accuracy according to me 3mm is good for outer body as it will show more accurate result then 5mm

Also, internal parts also look good the dome shape of the head is still good but spring doesn’t looks accurate we may need to reduce the target length for spring

MESHING:
Target length 1mm
Minimum length = 0.5mm
Maximum length = 2mm

As we can see the mesh size is very fine for the exterior body as the component is big Total no. of cell = 209780 For the body 1mm is good as with so many cells it will take a lot of time to calculate and the result is more accuracy compare to 5mm and 3mm.

Also, springs looks good with small mesh size its shape looks good and it is good for calculations

CONCLUSION:
Finally, we created a fine mesh size the accuracy increases but the time for calculation also increases We can make two different target length according to the size of parts and required accuracy but the 1mm mesh is more accurate.
