Q1) Simulink model of doorbell using solenoid block

solenoid block:

  • It is electrical and mechanical block
  • Its create a force through the help of electric supply

spst switch:

  • the switch have two terminal and threshold voltage
  • threshold voltage is generated by pulse generator

pulse generator:

  • the condition is switch closed for 2 sec then released so pusle delay set as 2
  • the output of pulse generator is simulink signal so use the simulink-ps covertor

simulink-ps converter:

  • It is used to convert the simulink signal into physical signal and another block of 12v battery used

Ideal translational motion sensor:

  • the motion sensor used for sense the movement of mechanical part of solenoid
  • The physical signal ports V and P report the velocity and position respectively

  • then output is monitered by scope and theb scope connected in position of motion sensor
  1. when using physical or mechanical block connect the solver configuration block

SIMULATION RESULT:

from result

total simulation run time is 10s and the switch is on for 2sec then electric supply apply to the solenoid block and the posotion is started after 2sec

RESULT:

doorebell simulink model is created succesfully and also observed the physical movement of plunger when switch is closed for 2s condition.

Q2)Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions

Temperature source: 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds, 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds, 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds

Fan conditions: ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF otherwise

simulink model:

description:

  • using thermister to sense the temperature through controlled temperature source
  • temperature source having input signal through signal builder as per the condition
  • voltage sensor connected in parallel with resistor .these is find out the thermister voltage
  • then output monitering using scope
  • compare the value of voltage and temperature then find out threshold voltage
  • the condition applied in switch when threshold voltage reached the switch is on condition and the fan is rotating
  • dc motor is used and the rotational speed is measured by using ideal rotational motion sensor
  • output is monitered by using scope motion sensor output signal is physical convert into simulink using ps-simulink converter

simulink output for voltage sensor:

these is a output of voltage sensor threshold voltage os 0.95

simulation output for rotational motion sensor:

from above output when threshold voltage reaches the switch is on condition that means fan is rotating above 25degree celcious

RESULT:

thermister controlled fan model is created and output moniterd by scope

condition-fan ON for 25 degree celcious otherwise OFF then condition is proved.
