Week 14 challenge

Aim : To Assemble and apply GD&T to the butterfly valve assembly drawing.

Given Data : Use previous drawn models and assemble.

Tool : Nx-12.

Procedure :

• Make sure of all parts should place in single folder.
• Open Nx cad and Create new assembly file.
• Assembly workbench opens.
• By clicking on add components, add all the parts whatever required.
• Place all parts with some distance between them to see all sides properly.

• After adding all parts fine tune it with using constraints option.
• It helps to locate and place the parts with one another properly.
• Here Assembly constraints of Center axis, Touch align, Align options are used to assemble whole butterfly valve assemmbly

Assembly :

• Hence assembling of all parts in a assembly work bench is completed
• Now drafting should be done.
• Use drafting option in application feature to activate the drafting workbench.
• Select required paper size.
• Create a base view and place.
• Create a projected side view from base view.
• Now dimension the required dimensions and Use GD&T symbols to contraint the drawing.

• Primary datum A is given to a surface with some diameter area at three places instead of giving to whole surface and provided some flatness tolerance.
• It contraints the 3degrees of freedom.
• The secondary datum B is provided to feature of size of a hole with some position tolerance with respect to Datum A.
• It contraints the 2degrees of freedom.
• My tertiary datum C is also provided to feature of size of a hole with some perpendicularity tolerance with respect to Datum A and B.
• It contraints the 1degree of freedom.
• Here Datum D also provided with some position tolerance with respect to datum A,B,&C.
• The other side of body the holes are constrained with concentricity tolerance with respect to their opposite datums.
• The other side of body the surface is constrained with Profile of surface with respect to Datum A,B,C.
• Hence drafting & applying GD&T symbols are done.

Conclusion :

• Assembling of all parts in assembly worjkbecnh is done.
• Drafting to assembly drawing is done.
• Dimensioning is also done.
• Applying GD&T symbols to drawing is aslo done.
