Week 12- Final project
DOOR TRIM PANNEL DESIGN & ASSEMBLY:
AIM:
Create a door trim panel design along with given class A Surface, Master sections and assemble together with the engineering features which is followed by the OEM, tier1 companies.
OBJECTIVE:
- To create the tooling axis for all surface and create draft analysis.
- To create class B and Class C surface from given Class A surface.
- Need to combine all surface and create solid body from that surface.
- Create the Engineering feature to mount and assemble the parts together.
GIVEN DATA:
CLASS A SURFACE:
- From Styling team, we got our complex surface to create solid body.
- We need do quality check for all the surface using boundary.
- Here we need to process 4 types of parts, we need to the name as Big part, Arm rest, Map Pocket, Bottle holder.
1.ARM REST:
CLASS A SURFACE:
- We Need to check the quality of class A surface we find out the irregular surface
- We need to inform with styling surface team to improve the surface.
BEFORE IMPROVEMENT:
AFTER IMPROVEMENT:
Class B surface:
By using offset, multiple extract, boundary, join and trim we are creating the class B surface.
Class C surface:
By using sweep, boundary, join command we are created the class c surface.
Class A & Class C Join:
By using join command, we are created the Class A & C Join.
Final Trim:
By using Trim command, we are created the final trim.
Closed Surface:
From surface design to part design, we need to change the interface and create the solid body.
Creation of Engineering feature:
By getting some engineering feature location from the Master section, and as per 3-2-1 principle we need to arrest the part and create the locator, mastic points by using those we are create the Engineering feature.
Draft analysis For Class A Surface and Final out:

2.MAP POCKET:
Class A Surface:
First, we need to check the Class Surface Quality, if it was not in good quality, we need to improve the Quality of Class A surface.
Creation of Tooling Axis:
Creation of Class B surface:
By using offset command, we need to create the Class B Surface.
And some patches are Rectified by multiple extract and join command.
Class C surface:
Using sweep, trim command we need to create the Class C surface.
Class A & C Join:
By using join command, we are created the Class A & C Join.
Final Trim:
By using Trim command, we are created the final trim.
Closed Surface:
From surface design to part design, we need to change the interface and create the solid body.
Creation of Engineering feature:
Here we are using master section to create the engineering feature.
Draft analysis For Class A Surface and Final out:

3.BOTTLE HOLDER:
CLASS A SURFACE:
First, we need to check the Class Surface Quality, if it was not in good quality, we need to improve the Quality of Class A surface.
TOOLING AXIS:
CLASS B SURFACE:
By using offset command, we need to create the Class B Surface.
And some patches are Rectified by multiple extract and join command.
CLASS C SURFACE:
Using sweep, trim command we need to create the Class C surface.
CLASS A&C JOIN:
By using join command, we are created the Class A & C Join.
FINAL TRIM:
CLOSED SURFACE:
Using closed surface command, we need to create the solid body.
ENGINEERING FEATURE CREATION:
By getting some engineering feature location from the Master section, and as per 3-2-1 principle we need to arrest the part and create the locator, mastic points by using those we are create the Engineering feature.

4.BIG PART:
CLASS A SURFACE:
First, we need to check the Class Surface Quality, if it was not in good quality, we need to improve the Quality of Class A surface.
CLASS B SURFACE:
By offsetting we got class B surface.
CLASS C SURFACE:
By using sweep, boundary, trim we got the class c surface.
CLASS A&C JOIN:
By using join command, we got this.
FINAL TRIM:
Using trim, we got the final trim.
CLOSED SURFACE:
From surface design to part design, we need to change the interface and create the solid body.
ENGINEERING FEATURE:
By getting some engineering feature location from the Master section, and as per 3-2-1 principle we need to arrest the part and create the locator, mastic points by using those we are create the Engineering feature.
DOG HOUSE:
As per design rules we are creating Dog house on the Big part.
Here they are given push pins as per push pin dimension we need to create the dog house.
LOCATOR:
Locators are playing vital role for holding the part within the constrains, and locate the mounting holes and heat steaks regions.
HEAT STEAKS:
For heat steaks we need to create heat steak points as per 3-2-1 principle, we need to arrest the 12 types of degrees of freedom.

FINAL ASSEMBLY:
CONCLUSION:
- From this Course I had learned Engineering concepts involved in the Automobile plastic design and the Design considerations, rules involved in manufacturing process, Steps involved in the Designing of plastic product.
- In this exercise I had learned how to create the assembly of Car door, designed it with engineering concepts as per industry standards.
