Week 11 - Project - A pillar Design with Master Section
Objective:
To design A -PILLAR, from the given input master section and CLASS A surface and performs draft analysis in the various stage of design.
Input:
Class-A Surface with Master Section

Tooling Axis:
The draft analysis tool used to analyze the feasibility of the CAD model for manufacturing. With the help of this tool, we can determine the available draft in the CAD model is sufficient or not. Proper draft will help to easier ejection of the part from the tool and whereas insufficient draft will end ends up in multiple tooling and part quality issue.
Bisecting Method:
Extract the line from the master section in order to get the tooling Axis.

Creating tooling axis with Bisecting line

Draft Analysis for Class-A Surface

Class B Surface
Measuring the distance from master section of A-Pillar, in order to make the class B Surface offset.

Class B Surface

Creating Class C Surface
Through various sweep, multi section command and with the help of class-A surface we make the class C Surface.

Converting the Closed body into Solid Body

Procedure to create the Engineering Feature- Using Master Section
Creating a Plane for Dog House Feature

Extract the master section in Sketch

Extrude the Sketch

Side Core Tooling Axis

Adding Draft of 1.5° on outer surface

Split the Extrude feature in order to get the exact width of dog house as per master section

Remove the material from the intersection part as per design standard i.e., 40% of main wall thickness

Applying 0.5° draft inside the inner profile of dog house
