Week 11 - Final project

FINAL REPORT FOR THE PROJECT:

DEVELOPMENT OF DOOR TRIM PANEL:

AIM:

To design and development of vehicle interior door trim using CATIA V5 with the given class A surface along with the master section. Also create the side attachment features ass per design rules.

OBJECTIVE:

*To create the thickned part using master section for refference.

*To create the mounting features are per design guidelines in the industry and with master section.

*To perform draft analysis & tooling analysis.

INTRODUCTION:

The door panel is the interface between the interior of the car and the inner workings of the door. generally the door pane is divided into two parts of easy designing like arm rest, map pocket, lower substrate, bottle holder.these requires one of the toughest requirement among the interior parts of the car.this should be designed to with stand the load while being less than 2mm in the thickness ansd alsso protect the occupants during collisions.

Door currently have an inner full width panel consisting of electronic windows.central locking system and speakers.these panels typically consists of a covered with either textiles or plastics.

1.LOWER SUBSTRATE OF THE DOOR

CLASS A SURFACE OF THE LOWER SUBSTRATE.

This class A surface is made by using the JOIN command and joining no. of components from the reference.

CREATING A TOOLING AXIS FOR LOWER SUBSTRATE.

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF CLASS A SURFACE

CLASS B SURFACE OF THE LOWER SUBSTRATE.

The class B surface is same as the class A surface but it should be at an OFFSET of 2.5mm from the class A surace .

FINAL TRIM OF THE LOWER SUBSTRATE WITH CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C ALONG THE TOOLING AXIS.

CLASS C SURFACE:

This is final trim made from joining or trimming CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C SURFACES are made with the reference to class A surface using SWEEP and TRIM command.

CLOSE BODY.

2.MAP POCKETOF THE DOOR

CLASS A SURFACE OF THE MAP POCKET.

This class A surface is made by using the JOIN command and joining no. of components from the reference.

CREATING A TOOLING AXIS FOR MAP POCKET.

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF CLASS A SURFACE.

CLASS B SURFACE OF THE MAP POCKET.

The class B surface is same as the class A surface but it should be at an OFFSET of 2.5mm from the class A surace .

FINAL TRIM OF THE MAP POCKET WITH CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C ALONG THE TOOLING AXIS.

CLASS C SURFACE:

This is final trim made from joining or trimming CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C SURFACES are made with the reference to class A surface using SWEEP and TRIM command.

CLOSE BODY.

3.BOTTLE HOLDER OF THE DOOR

CLASS A SURFACE OF THE BOTTLE HOLDER.

This class A surface is made by using the JOIN command and joining no. of components from the reference.

CREATING A TOOLING AXIS FOR BOTTLE HOLDER.

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF CLASS A SURFACE.

CLASS B SURFACE OF THE BOTTLE HOLDER.

The class B surface is same as the class A surface but it should be at an OFFSET of 2.5mm from the class A surace .

FINAL TRIM OF THE BOTTLE HOLDER WITH CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C ALONG THE TOOLING AXIS.

CLASS C SURFACE:

This is final trim made from joining or trimming CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C SURFACES are made with the reference to class A surface using SWEEP and TRIM command.

4.DOOR ARMREST OF THE DOOR

CLASS A SURFACE OF THE DOOR ARMREST.

This class A surface is made by using the JOIN command and joining no. of components from the reference.

CREATING A TOOLING AXIS & SLIDER AXIS FOR DOOR ARMREST.

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF CLASS A SURFACE.

CLASS B SURFACE OF THE DOOR ARMREST.

The class B surface is OFFSET of 2.5mm from the class A surace and improved .

FINAL TRIM OF THE DOOR ARMREST WITH CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C ALONG THE TOOLING AXIS.

CLASS C SURFACE:

This is final trim made from joining or trimming CLASS A,CLASS B,CLASS C SURFACES are made with the reference to class A surface using SWEEP and TRIM command.

Now we are going to create a B side features:

FLANGES IN THE MAP POCKET ,BOTTLR HOLDER,ARM REST.

BOTTLE HOLDER:

MAP POCKET:

BACK VIEW:

CONCLUSION:

Creation of the car interior door trim is designedusing the given class A surface as the input and class B and C surface created with the help of class A surface.by using the given master section attachment features i.e.heat steakes, flanges, dog house, locaters and push clips are created using the design rule.
