Week 11 Challenge

AIM : To find Frictional force.

PROCEDURE : 

        Vertical Load = 125KN.

        Frictional force = Coeff of friction * Vertical Load

        Coeff of Friction = 0.15 (Carbon steel to  Stainless Steel)

       Coeff of Friction = 0.10 (Stainless Steel steel to teflon)

       Frictional Force = 0.15*125 = 18.75 KN between pipe support and shoe.

       Frictional Force = 0.10*125 = 12.50 KN, if teflon pad is used between pipe support and shoe.

2) AIM : To identify type of support

            

       a) Spring support.

      

          b) Spring support.

      

        c) Guyed support

       

     d) Stop Support

       

     e) Guyed Support

       

      f) Rigid Support
