CAR CRASH CHALLENGE
OBJECTIVES
In this challenge, we have to perform a parametric study using 3 different values of thickness for the car body. You need to apply the same conditionsas mentioned in the video that corresponds to this challenge. Analyse the total deformation and Equivalent stresses acting on the model.
PROCEDURE
First, we have to input the engineering materials with required properties or else by creating with required properties.
Then we have to import our model into ansys, import the model and open it in space claim and cut the model
into half so that the academic version support.
Assign symmetry to the face of the wall and edges of the car.
Connection
Then mesh the component with required mesh size in this assignment we will use
Mesh Method
Face Sizing
Analysis setting give the end time as 1e-003, maximum energy error is given as 0.1 to avoid energy error and fix the car body and give displacement to the wall.
Displacement to wall
Assign the parametric to study different cases of thickness of 0.3,0.6 and 0.9mm respective results.
RESULTS
Case 1: Thickness 0.3mm
Total Deformation
Equivalent stress.
Equivalent strain
Directional Deformation
Conclusion
From the above stimulation results it is clearly concluded that the increase in thickness will reduce the total deformation and reduce the impact.

Week 6 - CHT Analysis on a Graphics card
Objective: To perform a steady state conjugate heat transfer analysis on a model of graphics card. Introduction :The term conjugate heat transfer (CHT) describes the process which involves variation of temperature within solids and fluids, due to thermal interaction between the solids and fluids, the exchange of thermal…

Week 5 - Rayleigh Taylor Instability
Rayleigh Taylor Instability INTRODUCTIONThe Rayleigh–Taylor instability, is the instability of an interface between two fluids of different densities which occurs when the lighter fluid is pushing the heavier fluid with the effect of gravity. Here we have prepared a model with two surfaces on over the above and considered…
