Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

AIM:

To create the Door Trim Lower Plastic component through the given Class A Surface. To being with, the tooling axis for the given Class A Surface should be created meeting the requirement of the drafting abdle and at the end perform the draft analysis on the model.

Create the Heat Stakes and Locators considering the design rules mentioned in the Question for the door applique.

To be able to create solid from the given Class A surface, by considering tooling axis and draft analysis.

The given Class A Surface:

It is an Asthetic surface and which is availabe to the customers ie, Top Surface,

The wall is extraced and A point was created at the centre of the base wall, Using that axis system is inserted,

Tooling Axis:

Tooling axis is the tool movement axis (core/cavity).

This axis will decides the Draft Analysis.

Performing the Draft analysis in the given Class A surface.

The creation of the Class B Surface:

The surface which is thicken and applying the engineering features in it that surface is called as Class B Surface

Now Offser the Class A Surface For 2.5mm in the inward direction.

OFFSET SURFACE OF CLASS B FROM CLASS A

Here you can see the gaps in the fillet areas and we need to repair the gaps by using the commands Multi extrapulate,Split, Extrapole,

Offset, Boundary, Curve Smooth, Trim and Join.

Image of Class B Surface after the repairs as Class B Output

The creation of class C surface:

The surface which Joins Both class A and Class B in Class C surface to complete the model and make output of Class C Surface.

By Using the Commands like Boundary, Sweep, Extrapole, Join,Curve smooth and Trim we can able to create thc Class C surface and we need to join the Class A and Class B to get the complete Output of Class C surface.

Complete body of Class C surface

Now Creating the Closed Surface:

Now Creating the Heat Stakes and the Locators considering the design rules mentioned in the given Question for the door aplique.
