REPORT: DRAFT ANALYSIS AND Tolerance AXIS CREATION

TOOLING AXIS

To ensure the manufacturability of the component, the tooling axis is created using the bisecting method. This approach involved the following steps:

the class A surface was carefully analyzed to identify suitable directions for draft feasibility

a dummy tool axis was created to get the proper intersection and with the help of axis tool, the proper intersection of class A was created

with this intersection, two upright planes (walls in class A ) were selected and a line was drawn from the intersections.

these two lines were bisected to make the original tooling axis

DRAFT ANALYSIS

The draft analysis was conducted to validate the feasibility ofthe component for the molding process The analysis involved the following steps:

1 A draft angle of 3 degree was ensured on both the inner and outer surfaces of the component to comply with the design guidelines and ensure easy release from the mold

2 Locators were designed with a 3-degree draft angle ,

The result of the draft analysis confirmed that all surfaces have a minimum draft of 3 degree , ensuring the component is suitable for manufacturing
