Challenge

Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

  • Insert a new geometrical set
  • So we have 12 points, work on any point and then translate
  • Start with the plane creation, use normal to curve, the plastic feature should be created in parallel to the tooling axis
  • Create a sketch, draw a sketch with D= 7 mm and 5 mm
  • For extrusion, create a new body, heat stakes, then pad itfor 20mm, provide 2nd limit 2mm for safety purposes
  • Provide draft of 05 degree at all vertical surface
  • Check whether the top thickness is 0.75mm or not, if not modify the sketch
  • Provide fillet of 0.25mm
  • Now heat stake is done, time to create RIB on ot
  • To create the rib create a sketch on the same plane over the previous sketch
  • pad the sketch, provide thick surface of 1.5mm with neutral fibre ,provide height of 3-6 mm
  • Provide draft to every vertical wall
  • provide fillet to all surfaces
  • Union trim the rib with heat stakes
  • copy the heat stakes body and paste special for 11 times, since we need 12 heat stakes
  • Define one heat stakes body and use translator tool and point to point method to place it on the specific point
  • Create a dummy body name it as heat stakes assembly
  • assemble all the heat stakes
  • define the main body and union trim the heat stakes assembly with main body
  • Finally do the draft analysis and check whether b surface with heat stakes is clearing or not

CREATION OF LOCATORS

  • Inserta new geometrical set for locator
  • Create a plane on that point by normal to curve method (normal to tooling axis)
  • Create a sketch for 4 way locator
  • create a body name it as locator, pad it using thick surface ,provide a width of 1.5mm with neutral fibre
  • Provide the height of locator more than height of heat srakes (20mm), so provide 25mm
  • provide draft of 0.5 degree to all vertical surface
  • champher the sharp edges with 4mm*45
  • Add the fillets to all phase
  • copy the body and and paste special
  • Now translate using translator with point to point method
  • Create a dummy body name it as locator assembly
  • assemble all the locator
  • define the main body and union trim the locator assembly with main body
  • Finally do the draft analysis and check whether b surface with heat locator is clearing or not
