Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features
Draft Analysis for CLASS A surface:
Screenshots of the completed design in various orientations:
in this i use 2 way & 4way locator for lock the or fix part with releted part.
for lock the all 12 dof (degree of freedom of part) we use 3-2-1 principal, by using this principal we need to lock minimum 11 degree of freedom remain 1 degree of freedom is we use to insert/fit part with another body .
one more thing is to locator hieght must be grater then heat stake hight. because first we locat the part in another body so first contact with anothr body is locator so hieght of locator is alwas greater then heat stake.
Draft Analysis for the Final Part:
with 0.5 degree draft all locator and heat stake also clear

FINAL REPORT:
Draft Analysis:
So, as explained in previous example. The draft analysis is done to check the exact drafts of the component. As we are aware of the fact that a component with vertical or 0 degree draft can be manufacturebale so we have to provide at least 3 degree draft to make proccess easy and possible. For that purpose draft analysis is very important to check wethere the component will be manufactured easily or not.
Tooling Axis:
In here, I've searched for the methods online. I found this new method which was highly used by the industrialists. The name of the method is Moment of inertia method. In CATIA software there is a feature which allows you to find center of gravity of the product. So according to that we find point. We created a line normal to that point and that will be our tooling axis.
