Week 10 - Challenge 2- Attachment Feature Creation (Dog House)

Create the Dog House for the Door Trim considering the design rules mentioned in the video. Consider the thickness of the part to be 2.5 mm.

"C" is where the doghouse contacts the backside of the surface

Class A Surface:

Creating tooling axis in Y Direction and performing Draft Analysis on the Class A Surface

Creating a Class B Surface by offsetting the Class A surface by 2.5mm as the thickness of the closed surface is 2.5mm.

Now, creating Class C Surface and join the same with the Class A Surface

Now, Trim Class B Surface with the Class A + C Surface

Check if there are any open boundaries and if none then convert it into Closed body by switching to Part Design and Selecting Closed Surface Command

Now, we need to construct the Doghouse and place it at the specified position

  • Doghouse wall thickness at the intersection of the part wall ( C ) should be 40% or less than the main wall stock ( T ).

  • The height of ( B ) should be between 3.0 – 6.0 mm

Now, Perform Draft Analysis on this component

Now, assemble the Doghouse to the preferred location
