Week 10 - Challenge 1- Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss)
REPORT ON RIBS AND SCREW BOSS
AIM
The aim of ribs and screw bosses design is to create the model from given Class-A Surface and then create the ribs and screw bosses on that part model with the help of created tooling axis. Also do the draft analysis on Class-A Surface and the part model.
Class-A Surface :-
Class-A Surface is the aesthetic of the component which is created by the styling team and gives to the part design engineer to create the part with all engineering aspects.

Tooling Axis :-

For Creating the Tooling Axis. First create the line and then with the help of that line we create tooling axis by bisecting the line.
Draft Analysis on Class-A Surface -

Procedures for creating Ribs and Screw Bosses -
Class B Surface Creation
Create the Class B Surface by offsetting class A surface.

Class C Surface Creation

Final Closed Body
Create Final closed Body from class A surface, class B surface and class C surface.

After creating closed body, We create solid body from closed surface.

Ribs and Screw Bosses Creation -
When Solid Body is created then we go for ribs and screw bosses creation. We create ribs by creating sketch and extended sheet from sketch. After that we thicken the extended sheet and create ribs. Same as ribs creation we create sketch for screw bosses and then pad the sketch to create screw bosses.

Draft Analysis on Final Component -

CONCLUSION
We discussed about class A surface and create tooling axis. Then we Create Class B and Class C surface and make closed body to create solid body. Also we did draft analysis on both the class A surface and the final component.
