Week 10 Bullet penetrating a Bucket Challenge
Bullet penetrating a Bucket
AIM :
For this challenge, you will have to simulate a bullet penetrating into a bucket. You will need to use 3 different non linear materials for the bucket and analyse their behaviour for the same velocity of bullet. Apply the conditions for bullet as mentioned in the video itself. Upload animation files to show the behaviour in the three cases.
PROCESS:
- Download the model and import into ansys Explicit workbench
- In engineering data add the Explicit materials

- Check the geometry

- Update & open the model
- In geometry rename & assigne the Materials( AL 1100-O )

- For bullet Keep it Rigid

- Make a edge sizing For BUCKET give ELEMENT SIZE 6MM

- Follow the analysis settings as shown

- Fix the base of the BUCKET

- Bullet is given with velocity

- Go for the required solution
SOLUTION:
- TOTAL DEFORMATION

- EQUIVALENT STRESS

- TEMPERATURE

CASE 2 : USING ALUMINIUM AS MATERIAL FOR BUCKET
PROCESS:
- DUPLICATE THE CASE 1 AND OPEN THE MODEL
- CLICK ON THE GEOMETRY AND ON BUCKET CHANGE THE MATERIAL

- CLEAR THE DATA AND GO FOR SOLVE
SOLUTION:
- TOTAL DEFORMATION

- EQUIVALENT STRESS

- TEMPERATURE

CASE 3 : USING COPPER AS MATERIAL FOR BUCKET
PROCESS:
- DUPLICATE THE CASE 1 AND OPEN THE MODEL
- CLICK ON THE GEOMETRY AND ON BUCKET CHANGE THE MATERIAL

- CLEAR THE DATA AND GO FOR SOLVE
SOLUTION:
- TOTAL DEFORMATION

- EQUIVALENT STRESS

- TEMPERATURE
