Week 1 Stress Concentration on a Plate with hole

Aim;

To conduct a test in two case study on plate with single circular hole and plate with one cirular hole with big Dia & then two hole away from the centre with same dia on same given boundary condtions

Software used

ANSYS workbench student version 2021 R2

Procedure :

• Start the ANSYS workbench and click on the static structural module
• The project window will opens now go to the engineering data assign the material property as structucal steel which will be given as default .
• Then go to model and bulit the model with the given dimensions and pull it with assgined thickness .
• Mesh the model after modelling .
• Apply boundry condtions for it like fixed constrain , force on the model .
• And in the slove insert what all results we need in the solution information then hit slove .

Comparing the both cases the case on is taking more load and Less deformation to fail ,Becasue of the deisgn of load transfer given to the model when the load is given .

By the results shown the case one is the best design

In the manufacturer POV the case one can be producted if we are planing to product the case 2 means material update should be done and after getting the FEA results we can produce the second case but without any changes in design we can make case one part in the production .
