Challenge

Week - 1 - Consistency of Units

Aim:

The objective of the challenge is to change the following values to the given system of units.This challenge is to know the different type of units used and how to change the given system

MASS 1kg
LENGTH 1m
TIME 1s
FORCE 1N
STRESS 1Pa
ENERGY 1Nm
DENSITY 1Kg/m3
YOUNG'S Modulus 210GPa
Velocity 56.33KMPH
GRAVITY 9.8m/s2

Now, here are a few system of units:

Kg cm ms

Kg cm s

gm mm ms

kg m s

g cm s

g cm us

g mm s

ton mm s

slug ft s

kg mm s

g cm ms

kg mm ms

Procedure:

As Per the challenge g/mm/ms unit syatem is given in detailed

Mass = 1kg =1000g

length = 1m = 1000 mm

seconds =1 s =1000 ms

All three has the conversion factor of about 10^3

Force = mass* acceleration

mass = 1 kg =1000g

acceleration = m/s^2

= 1000*(1000)/(1000)^2

=1 g.mm/ms^2

conversion factor = 1

Stress = force/area

force = 1 g.mm/ms^2

area =m^2

stress = 1/(1000)^2

= 10^-6 g/mm.ms^2

conversion factor = 10^-6

Energy = N.m

force = 1N = 1 g.mm/ms^2

1 m = 1000mm

Energy = 10^3 g.mm^2/ms^2

conversion factor = 10^3

density = kg/m^3

1 kg = 10^3 g

m= 1000mm

Density = 1000/(1000)^3

= 10^-6g/mm^3

conversion factor = 10^-6

Young's modulus = 210 Gpa

1pa = 1 stress = 10^-6 g/mm.ms^2

1 GPa = 10^9 Pa

Young's modulus = 10^3 g/mm.ms^2

conversion factor = 10^3

velocity = 56.33 kmph

1km = 10^6 mm

1hr = 60*60*3600ms

= 15.64 mm/ms

gravity = 9.8 m/s^2

1m = 1000 mm

1s = 1000 ms

= 9.8* 10 ^-3 mm/ms
