Question 1.

(i) Rear sprung mass frequency = 1.3 Hz

(ii) Front sprung mass natural frequency at design = 1.15 Hz

(iii) Front spring rate = 260.38 N/mm.

(iv) Rear spring rate = 332.18 N/mm.

(v) Front sprung mass natural frequency at curb = 1.98 Hz

Front sprung mass natrual frequency at GVW = 1.83 Hz

(vi) Rear sprung mass natural frequency at curb = 2.57 Hz

Rear sprung mass natural frequency at GVW = 2 Hz

(vii) Front unsprung mass natural frequency at curb = design = GVW since unsprung mass at all conditions are equal and is = 16.86 Hz.

(viii) Rear unsprung mass natural frequency at curb = design = GVW since rear unsprung mass at all conditions are equal and is = 22.07 Hz.

(ix) Rear/Front frequency ratio

For sprung

At curb: Rear/Front = 2.57/1.98 = 1.29

At design: Rear/Front = 1.3/1.15 = 1.13

At GVW: Rear/Front = 2/1.83 = 1.092

For unsprung

Rear/Front: 22.07/16.86 = 1.30
