V-Block Assembly : Week 4 Challenge

For V block

  • I started by switching over to the sketcher workbench from the mechanical workbench, where I had previously defined the geometric parameters for the position of the sketch.
  • Using the profile tool, I drew a 78 mm by 48 mm rectangle.
  • I used the profile feature tool to model the part and insert it into the body.
  • To create a solid from the sketch, we extruded it by 19 mm.
  • Sketch was made as a positioning aid on the solid surface.
  • Pad command in the component workbench was used to extrude it.
  • As a result, the necessary file has been successfully saved.

For U Clamp

  • To begin 2D sketching, I opened a new file and inserted a geometrical set.
  • I made an arc in Sketcher's workspace with a 23mm radius using the profile tool bar.
  • Shifted it 5 mm to the side and made the necessary geometrical adjustments placed the part's shell in the slot and switched to the design station.
  • Sketch was expanded to a thickness of 13 millimetres
  • Using the pocket definition tool bar, a hole measuring 4 mm in diameter was drilled into the top of the u-clamp.
  • Documents are .CADpart files.

For fastners

  • The profile tool bar was used to drill a hole 10 millimetres in diameter in the sketcher's workbench; the sketch was then inserted and expanded to a thickness of 13 millimetres.
  • After finishing a geomentry project, the data is saved in .CATpart

Assembly

  • I've got the assembly table all set up.
  • All pre existing components are imported from the existing component tool bar and assembled with constraints.
  • The CATproduct file format was used to store the bottom-up assembly data.
