Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT
1. Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared the coordinates for the project.
AIM
To create an architectural template and to set project base point and shared coordinates by using Revit software.
PROCEDURE
- To create a new sheet with Architectural template.
- After that, to save the file at appropriate location.
- To open ,, Manage tab’’ click on project coordinates for specific shared coordinates.
- And then, to set the new coordinates.
- At the elevation of North/south type is 0’0” and East/west type is 0’0”.
- After the completion of set the coordinates, to create a project base point.
- Go to Architectural tab, then select the ‘’ Grid’’ under the tab of datum, the grids makes to set the reference base point of the diagram.

RESULTS
The project base point and shared coordinates are successfully created.
2. Open another new file but with a structural template. Using manage tab set project parameters for the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model.
AIM
To create a structural template with the same parameters as architectural project template.
PROCEDURE
- To create a new sheet with Structural template.

RESULTS
The project base point and shared coordinates of structural plan are successfully created.
3. Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model ).
AIM
To create an architectural model as central model.
PROCEDURE
- To re-open the Same Architectural model.
- After that, collaborate tool by using ‘within your network’ then architectural makes as a central model.

RESULTS
The creation of architectural model as a central model was collaborated.
4. Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the Task done in week 2.
AIM
To create a Grids Of Longitudinal and Transverse pattern.
PROCEDURE
- To open the architectural plan as saved before.
- Then, go to architectural tab to select datum tab.
- Choose the grid to locate the Longitudinal and Transverse model.

RESULTS
The longitudinal and transverse grids are created successfully.
5. Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
AIM
To synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
PROCEDURE
- To open the architectural
- Go to collaborate tool and to collaborate the saved file.
- Next, to choose synchronize , for automatically save your local model.

RESULTS
The architectural model is synchronized.
6. Open the structural model and using the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
AIM
To open structural and using the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
PROCEDURE
- To open the structural model.
- After that, we choose collaborate tool and collaborate the saved file.
- Then, synchronize the model as a central file.

RESULTS
The structural model is synchronized.
7. Under the collaborate tab, select the grids and level from the architectural model , and using copy/monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model.
AIM
To copy the architectural model to structural model by using the copy/monitor tool in REVIT.
PROCEDURE
- To open the architectural model.
- Go to collaborate tab, and to select the grids and levels.
- After that, choose Copy/Monitor options to copy the same grids and levels to the structural model.

RESULTS
The copy/monitor options is done.
8. Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new model as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, click the manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.
AIM
To create a new file with a construction template that includes both architectural and structural models.
PROCEDURE
- To open the new file with the construction template.
- After that, go to manage link and select it to add the links of architectural and structural model by origin to origin position.
- Then, we get the combination of architectural and structural at the same file in same-origin location.

RESULTS
The creation of construction templates of both architectural and structural model in combined perfectly.
9. Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under manage links.
Answer:
Yes, my structural and architectural models are matching in the construction template created. Therefore my week 6 challenge is set up for project 2.
10. List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of construction model, architectural model and structural model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously.
For Construction model
