ANSWER

1) Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project

Step-1 Open the architectural template

Step-2 make the visibility/graphic dialog box open

Step-3 use the site check box open

Step-4 check the base point and survey point option

Step-5 we will get the location of the extract point

Step-6 after getting the exact point. in Architectural menu>datum tab>grids option

Step-7 make the outermost and the innermost grid in the arch-1 file

Step-8 manage menu>location tab>specify coordinate at a point option

Step-9North/south 0'0''

Step-10 manage menu>location tab>specify coordinate at a point option

Step-11 East/west 0'0''

Step-12 Save the file in the specified location

2) Open another new file but with a structural template. Using the manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model

Step-1 Open the Structural template

Step-2 make the visibility/graphic dialog box open

Step-3 use the site check box open

Step-4 check the base point and survey point option

Step-5 we will get the location of the extract point

Step-6 after getting the exact point. in Structural menu>datum tab>grids option

Step-7 make the outermost and the innermost grid in the Stru-1 file

Step-8 manage menu>location tab>specify coordinate at a point option

Step-9North/south 0'0''

Step-10 manage menu>location tab>specify coordinate at a point option

Step-11 East/west 0'0''

Step-12 Save the file in the specified location

3) Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model)

Step-1 file menu> open option> Arch-1 file

Step-2 going to the collaboration menu >collaborate manage tab> collaborate option

Step-3 collaborate dialog box appears

Step-4 within your network option and click the ok button.

Step-5 Again Save the file and it will ask the file if first-time work sharing is enabled make it as ok

4) Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2

Step-1 open the week-2 challenge file for the reference

Step-2 make the grids similar to the week-2 floor plan

Step-3 make use of the grid option to top to bottom as alphabets and left to right as a numerical

5) Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.

Step-1 open the arch-1 file for the synchronize

Step-2 collaborate menu> synchronize tab> synchronize with central option

Step-3 and use the synchronize and modify the setting

Step-4 synchronize with central dialog box will pop's-up

Step-5 make it as ok for the process

Step-6 at the end the file changes as the central file for the use

6) Open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.

Step-1 open the stru-1 file for the synchronize

Step-2 collaborate menu> synchronize tab> synchronize with central option

Step-3 and use the synchronize and modify the setting

Step-4 synchronize with central dialog box will pop's-up

Step-5 make it as ok for the process

Step-6 at the end the file changes as the central file for the use

7) Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model

Step-1 for the copying grids,

Step-2 use the collaborate menu>coordinate tab>copy/monitor option

Step-3 copy option to copy the grid in the x-axis and y-axis

Step-4 in the distance of the week-3 project

8) Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural models. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.

Step-1 Open the new file as a construction template

Step-2 Open the new file name it as Comb-1

Step-3 manage tab>manage link option>add option

Step-4 Add the file one>arch-1

Step-5 Add the file two>Stru-1

Step-6 click as ok button

Step-7 make it as save

9) Are the grids from structural and architectural models matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner

Yes, all the grids are successfully merged in the combined file. and ready for the project2

10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously
