Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT

1 AIM:- Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project

PROCEDURE:- to create project shared coordinates

  • OPEN Architectural tab

STEP-2:- FIRST save the file with appropriate name

  • Go to collabration and enable collabration within your network

STEP-3:- OPEN MANAGE TAB

  • CLick on project coordinates and then specify shared coordinates
  • In east / west type 0'0"
  • IN north/south type 0'0"

STEP-4;- go TO architectural tab

  • CLick architectural horizontal and vertical grids
  • REANME THE GRIDS
  • select manage tab and specify coordinate at point and specify both grids and select 0'0"

RESULT:-

2. AIM:- Open another new file but with a structural template. Using the manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model

PROCEDURE:- to create project shared coordinates

  • OPENstructurall tab

STEP-2:- FIRST save the file with appropriate name

  • Go to collabration and enable collabration within your network

STEP-3:- OPEN MANAGE TAB

  • CLick on project coordinates and then specify shared coordinates
  • In east / west type 0'0"
  • IN north/south type 0'0"

STEP-4;- go TO architectural tab

  • CLick architectural horizontal and vertical grids
  • REANME THE GRIDS
  • select manage tab and specify coordinate at point and specify both grids and select 0'0"

RESULT:-

3) Aim:- Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model)

PROcedure:- reopen the architectural file

  • REame the file
  • save it with name given below

STEP-2 SELECT the collabrate option

  • Two option will appear on the screen
  • Select the option within the network and press ok

RESULT:-

4. AIM: Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2

PROCEDURE:-

  • Open the architectural template in revit
  • Go to architectural template >datum TAB >grids
  • Draw the grids in transverse and longitudnal direction according to the plan of project
  • Rename the grids as per standards

Result:-

5. AIM:-Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.

COMMAND USED:- Manage and synchronise tab

PROCEDURE:-

  • OPen the file in revit
  • Select the manage tab and select synchronise tab and click ok

STEP-2 :-

  • COMpact the file
  • Save it then and file will be synchronise with the central

RESULT:-

6. AIM:- Open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.

PROCEDURE:-

STEP-1:- FIRST save the file with appropriate name

  • Go to collabration and enable collabration within your network

STEP-2 :-

  • COMpact the file
  • Save it then and file will be synchronise with the central

RESULT:-

7 Aim:- Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model

PROCEDURE:-

STEp 1:- OPEN THE structural file

  • GO to manage tab
  • Now go to manage links and add architectural file as added below

STep-2 :- File will be linked to structural file like given below:-

STEP-3

  • GO To collabrate
  • there is copy monitor select it
  • Select the link and choose the file

STEP-4 :-SELECt the grids a nd levels and select multiple

  • Select copy
  • now click finish and it will be copied to given file

RESULT:-

8 AIM:- Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.

command used :- Manage and manage links

Procedure:-

  • Select the construction template

  • STEP -2 :-
  • Save the file with suitable name
  • Go to manage tab
  • select manage links
  • Add both arch and struc files and add intop the system

STep -3 :- File will be added into the system as given below

REsult:-

9 Aim:- Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner

COMMAND USED :- manage , manage links , acquire coordinates, position and relocate position

PROCEDURE:-

STEP-1 :-open the architectural template and select manage tab

  • IN the manage tab selcet manage links
  • SElect the structural dtrawwing
  • Both the grids will appear in the drawi ng
  • IT is not coinciding

STEP _2:- SELCT the arch grid and acqire coordinate

  • Select the position grid and click relocate position
  • Selevct the intersection point of the grids
  • The grids will be positioned

RESULT:-

10 List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously

ANS :- for the construction model the project tree is as :-

  • Site acces
  • Logistics and storage
  • Quality control
  • Outstanding contract detauils
  • Outstanding design-related challenges
  • Helath and safety

For architectural model

  • Schematic design
  • Design development
  • Construction documnets'
  • Bidding
  • Construction administration

FOr structural model:-

  • Schematic design
  • Design development
  • COnstruction documents
  • Bidding
  • Construction administration
  • The primary objective of structural ananalaysis and design is to produce a structure capable of resisting all applied loads without failure during its intended life.if improperly designed ,elements of a structure would fail cauing serious consequences such as large expenses
  • Once the architectural enginear set the function and layout of structure ,the role of structure engnear begin which can be summarized in following steps to develop safe and functional structure
