1) Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project

AIM:

To set the project base point & project shared coordinaes for the project using manage tab in the architecural template.

INTRODUCTUIN:

  • The project base point can be used to establish a reference for measuring distances & positioning objects in relation to the model.
  • Initially, in stock templates, it identifies the origin (0,0,0) of the project coordinate system. Use the project base point as a reference point for measurements across the site.

PROCEDURE:

  • First we open the revit.
  • Next create the a project using the architectural templete.

  • Next we draw the horizontal & vertical gird line using grid toolbar.

  • Intersecting each other & give the name for Horizontal grid as 1.
  • Name the vertical grid as A.

  • Next we open the manage tab select the coordination option that we select the specify coordinates at point & click on the horizotal gride.

  • After selecting the horizontal gride, the specify shared coordinates tab will be appears in the specify shared coordinates tab we need to enter the coordinates for north/south as 0 press ok.

  • Again select the specify coordunates at point select the vertical grid & chage the East/west as 0 then press ok.

  • open the the visibility/graphic in the model categories select the site & select the project base point click it & apply ten ok.

  • Move the project base point in the two intersection gride & click it.

  • Then it we ask to save the project & save the project as architectural.

RESULT:

  • The project base point & shared cooordinates are created.

2) Open another new file but with a structural template. Using the manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model

AIM:

To set the project base point & project shared coordinaes for the project using manage tab in the Structural template.

  • Next create the a project using the structural templete.

  • Then save the project & save the project as structural.

RESULT:

  • The project base point & shared cooordinates are created.

3) Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model)

AIM:

To make the architectural model as a central model using the collaborare tab.

INTRODUCTUIN:

  • With server-based work-sharing some of the task to manage the centeral model require a different approach that dile-based work-sharing.
  • The central model is the master project file for a workshare project.
  • The central model srores the currrent ownership information for all elements in the project, & acts as the distribution point for all changes published to the file.
  • All team members save their own local couples of the central model, work locally,& then use the syncronize with central command to synchronize their edits to the model with the central model.

PROCEDURE:

  • First open the revit & open the architectural file.

  • Next click on the collaborate tab, then click the collaborate tool bar then the new tab will be appers.
  • Then click on the ok.

  • Next we see the another tab, & select save model & continue option,as shown below.

  • Save the project as shown below.
  • click the yes.

  • Next we save the project file as a central model as shown below.

RESULT:

The created on architectural model as a central model using the collaborate tab.

4) Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2

AIM:

To create the grids logitudinal & transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in week 2.

INTRODUCTUIN:

  • Grid lines are finite planes,we can drag their extents in elevation views so that they do not intersect level lines.
  • This allows you to determine whether grid lines appear in each new plan view that you create for a project.
  • Grids can be straight lines, arcs or multi-segmented.You can hide grid lines atter you add them.
  • Use the grid tool to place column grid lines in the building design. We can that all columns along the column grid lines.

PROCEDURE:

  • Open the central model of architectural dwawing.

  • create the vertical grid & horizontal grid as shown below.

  • The vertical grid & Horizontal grid are created succesfully.

  • Give the offset distance as 2000.

RESULT:

The grids longitudinal & transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in week 2.

5) Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.

AIM:

To synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the model architectural.

INTRODUCTUIN:

  • The synchronize with central process loads changes from other files to the central file, & then save local changes to the cental file, which are saved by default.
  • The central file access pane of work-sharing monitor displays the progress of the synchronize with central operation, which involves several distinct steps.

PROCEDURE:

  • Open the collabrate tab & press the sybchronize with central tool bar.

  • Press the synchronize & modify setting.

  • Another new tab will be appear click ok.

RESULT:

Synchronized the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.

6) Open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.

AIM:

To save the model as central file using the collaborate tool in the structural model.

PROCEDURE:

  • Open the structural file.

  • Next click on the collaborate tab, then click the collaborate tool bar then the new tab will be appers.

9) Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner

Yes ,the grids from architectural & structural model matching in the construction template created. If yes, the model is set up for project 2.

10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously

For the construction model

  • Site access
  • Longistics & storage
  • Quality control
  • Outstanding contract details
  • Outstanding design-related challenges
  • Health & Safety

For Architectural model

  • Modelling walls
  • Modelling windows
  • Modelling doors
  • Assigns materials
  • Modelling architectural floorings
  • Modelling architectural roofings & ceilings
  • Enables to provide the geographic conditions
  • Modelling staircase
  • Creates openings
  • Architectural model in overall contributes to the aesthetic beauty of a building.

For Structural model

  • Modelling column
  • Modelling beam
  • Modelling footing
  • Modelling structural floor
  • Modelling slabs
  • Modelling Trus system
  • Modelling connections
  • Structural model in general develops the entire framework of a structure.

The primary objective of structural analysis & design is to produce a structure capable of resisting all applied loads without failure during its intended life.If improperly designed, elements of a structure would fall causing serious consequences such as large expenses or ultimately losses in lives which cannot be compared with any cost.

Once the aechitectural engineer sets the function & layout of the structure, the role of the structural engineer begins which can be summarized in the following steps to develop a safe, functional & economic structures.

The number of people work in one project depends on the type of project such as it is in which group A or group B etc.
