UNDERBODY COATING
Underbody coating is usually a defence cladding(often based on rubber)applied uniformly to the undercarriage
of the automobile.It is normally sprayed or painted on when the car is just out of dealership and is clean.when we are moving in muddy,village roads it makes cause wear and tear and may cause corrosion and may cause damage to the vehicle so by underbodycoating we can protect our vehicle from all these aspects, which act as safe and secure to the parts.Also underbody coating act as a thermal insulation which specially helps in summer season.

- prerequirements:Removes and clean excess metals and make surface good for coating
- now,electode deposition is applied for anti corrosion
- The sealer like poly vinyl chloride is applied for anti corrosion,water elimating,vibbrating noise/
- A primer is then applied to promote adhesion between surface and base coat,it also imparts a smoother surface
- Finally,the topcoats this include a base coat and clear coat are applied ,these make surface soft which includes colour,weather resistance,apperance,smooth

- Wax based underbody coating
- Asphalt based Automotive undercoating
- Polyurethane underbody coating
1)Rubberized underbody coating:
It preserves the underbody well protecting it from scartches.Applying this to the undercarriage is not much of a hassle either.it protects car from road debris,moisture,rust.
2)Wax Based Underbody Coating:This is more or less underbody coating will wear in few months time.This is the cheapest and quickest coating process.On the upside,wax based underbody coating puts up a big fight against moisture.It is most affortable option out there
3)Asphalt Based Automotive Undercoating:Bestg suited for lorries ,trucks and large vehicles this provides a greater degree of protection compared to rubber based coatings. It protects from moisture and rock chips .However,asphalt based coating contains the little amount of rubber for sound-insulation purposes. The process of applying this coating is a bit time consuming thought.
4)Polyurethane Underbody Coating:This coating closes up splits and fractures on the underbody of the vehicle.if offers up good protection agiaist corrosion and also bonds with the metal.
Unlike in the case of asphalt based coating ,you can paint over the polyurethane coating.
ADVANTAGES OF UNDERBODY COATING:
- FLIGHTS RUST:It plays an important role in keeping corrosion at bay.Underbody coating can come in handy especially if u live near the sea,where there is too much humidity and rusting is just one of those everyday things.
- ABORBS NOISE :Even Very thick undercoating can soften the noises that reach the cabin.since the undercoating is often made up of rubber it obsorbs some of the rackets.
- REINFORCEMENT:If the car comes with stock underbody coating,using another coating on top of it ,is not going to hurt. It will offer additional reinforcement,protecting the underbody from water,road debris,gravel and small pebbles
- THERMAL INSULATION:Aspecillaly in the time of summer season the climate is too hot to bear so the road are with high temperature, as the underbody is near to the road here the coating act as an insulator between underbody and road.
DISADVANTAGES OF UNDERBODY COATING
- It is costly process,but not as compared to replacements of parts
HENCE,underbody coating helps for smooth maintance of the materials by protecting it from rusting and rock chipping
