Underbody Coating

UNDERBODY COATING:

Underbody coating is a thick cladding(made of rubber) that is uniformly sprayed to the cars underbody.It protects car underbody from Rust and also protects the cars internal body panel,frame rails and other inner cavities that are not accessable but are prone to rust.Also it protects the car from small stones that will chip the paint and leads to rust.

Types :

1.Rubberized underbody coating

It protects the car from rust and also used as noise insulation.It is easy to apply

2.Wax underbody coating

It is cost effective and it will fade away after few months.Used to control dampness

3.Asphalt underbody coating

Compared to rubberized underbody coating,Asphalt gives higher protection.For noise insulation they will use some amount of rubber in it.

4.PU underbody coating

It is easy to apply and also protects the car from rust bu binding with metal.

Pros:

1.Resistance aganist Rust.

2.Absorbs noise.

3.Reinforcement.

4.Improves car shell life.

Cons:

1.Primary drawback is cost.

2.Increased car weight.

3.It must be reapplied for every 3-4 years.
