Procedure of underbody coating -

A thick resilient coating applied to the chassis of automobile to protect against impact damage from small stones,which

would rapidly chip ordinary paint, allowing rusting to begin.

Undercoating will not help you if corrosion already exists and the corrosion needs to be removed first before it can be applied.
