Underbody Coating
UnderBody coating
Under body coating is done to seals and prevents the entry of water, corrosion, and dust into the joints of car bodies. It also offers excellent noise reduction performance and high resistance to abrasion and impact. The material is typically applied in regions of the underbody, rocker panel, and wheel arches, where exposure to the driving environment and stone beats is constant.
This Process of under body coating is done by all OEMs. It can be applied by spring for thin or thick coat as required protection.

Advantages:
- give protection against eliments ( Water, dust, corrosion)
- Absorb Noise(NVH) making confertrable ride
- Easy to apply and low maintance required
- Prevent Paint chipping
Dissadvantage:
- If applied on corrosion surface corrosion rate increases
- Should be applied on clean surface to get results
- expensive
Types of underbody coating
- Resin-based
- Rubberized- based
- Wax-based
- Bitumen-based
Thickness of coating
The underbody coating that is most commonly used on cars in India are thick, rubberized paint that forms a 2-3 mm thick coating all along the underside of the car.
