Underbody Coating
under body coating is usually a dense material applied uniformly under the body of automobile.the dense material usually a thick dense material of polymer which stays long and won't corrode or react with body metals.the main purpose of under body coating is to prevent from rust in under bodu components and joints.underbody coating can prevent wear and tear.
the welding regions and joint regions can be covered with the coating inorder to prevent from corrosion and damages.

there are different types of underbody coating based on types of material used for coating -
- rubber based underboady coating
- wax based underbody coating
- asphalt based underbody coating
- polyurethane based underbody coating
advantage of underbody coating-
- it prevent from rust to occur - It plays an important role in keeping corrosion at bay. Underbody coating can come in handy especially if you live near the sea, where there is too much humidity, and rusting is just one of those everyday things. You should also seriously consider undercoating if you reside in a place where it snows in winter.
- it absorb noise - thick undercoating can soften the noises that reach the cabin. Since the undercoating is often made up of rubber it absorbs some of the rackets.
- additional coating than stock underbody coating will offer additional reinforcement, protecting the underbody from water, road debris, gravel and small pebbles.but there would also be a lesser chance for the factory coat to flake away.
- it also helps in prevent paint patching in underbody areas.
disadvantages of underbody coating -
- since it is an additional process;it is costly.so premium cars have better underbody coating compared to normal cars.
- if this dense material attach on moving mechanical bodies; it affect the movement of the mechanical body or else it would peel out entire dense material from the sealing surface.
