Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code
Sketch a G+1 floor residential plan, according to Vaastu Shastra, and list down the names of the structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.
Also, assume the sizes of the structural elements (Column, Beam, Slab, etc.,) and accordingly calculate the individual corresponding loads from the members as per IS code.
Important structural drawing are:
- Centre line drawing
- Footing and column layout with reinforcement details
- Plinth beam layout with reinforcement details
- First floor beam layout with reinforcement details
- First floor slab layout with reinforcement details
- Lift pit reinforcement details
G+1 Residential plan:

Let us assume the size of
column=300*300
Height of column=3m
Beam= 300*450
Thickness of slab=125mm
Height of wall=4m
Thickness of wall=230mm
Total no.of column=10
Dead load calculation:
Dead load of column=0.3*0.3*3*25=6.75kN =6.75*10=67.5kN
Dead load of beam=0.3*0.45*25=3.38kN/m^3
Dead load of slab=0.125*25=3.12kN/m^2
Dead load of wall=4*0.23*20=18.4kN/m^2
Live load calculation:
Live load of hall=2kN/m^3
Live load of master bedroom=2kN/m^3
Live load of room=2kN/m^3
Live load of kitchen=2kN/m^3
Live load of dining=2kN/m^3
Live load of toilet=2kN/m^3
Live load of staircase=3kN/m^3
Wind load calculation:
Wind load for the building does not exceed because wind load is applicable only the buildinh height is above10m.
