Structural elements:

Beam - 300mm x 450mm

Slab thickness - 150mm

Member load calculation:

Columns (Ground Floor)

No. of columns = 12

Column size = 300mm x 400mm

Height of column = 3.50m

Volume of column = Column size x Height of column x No. of columns

= 0.30 x 0.40 x 3.50 x 12

= 5.04 m3

Unit weight of RCC Concrete = 25 KN/m3

Self weight of column = Volume of column x Unit weight of RCC Concrete

= 5.04 x 25

= 126 KN

Therefore, Dead load of column at Ground floor = 126 KN

Columns (First Floor)

No. of columns = 9

Column size = 300mm x 400mm

Height of column = 3.50m

Volume of column = Column size x Height of column x No. of columns

= 0.30 x 0.40 x 3.50 x 9

= 3.78 m3

Unit weight of RCC Concrete = 25 KN/m3

Self weight of column = Volume of column x Unit weight of RCC Concrete

= 3.78 x 25

= 94.5 KN

Therefore, Dead load of column at First floor = 94.5 KN

Total Dead load of column = 126 + 94.5

Therefore, Dead load of column = 220.50 KN

Beam (First Slab Level):

Beam size = 300mm x 450mm

Length of beam = 42.90m

Volume of beam = Beam size x Length of beam

= 0.30 x 0.450 x 42.90

= 5.79 m3

Unit weight of RCC Concrete = 25 KN/m3

Self weight of beam = Volume of beam x Unit weight of RCC Concrete

= 5.79 x 25

= 144.75 KN

Therefore, Dead load of beam at First slab level = 144.75 KN

Beam (Roof Slab Level):

Beam size = 300mm x 450mm

Length of beam = 32m

Volume of beam = Beam size x Length of beam

= 0.30 x 0.450 x 32

= 4.32 m3

Unit weight of RCC Concrete = 25 KN/m3

Self weight of beam = Volume of beam x Unit weight of RCC Concrete

= 4.32 x 25

= 108 KN

Therefore, Dead load of beam at Roof slab level = 108 KN

Total Dead load of beam = 144.75 + 108

Therefore, Dead load of beam = 252.75 KN

Walls (230mm at Ground Floor)

Thichness of wall = 230mm

Height of wall = 3.20m

Length of wall = 51.4 m

Area of wall = Thichness of wall x Height of wall

= 0.230 x 3.20

= 0.736 m2

Unit weight of brick masonry = 20 KN/m3

Self weight of 230mm brick wall = Area of wall x Length of wall x Unit weight of brick masonry

= 0.736 x 51.4 x 20

= 756.608 KN

Therefore, Dead load of 230mm brick masonry at Ground floor = 756.608 KN

Walls (230mm at First Floor)

Thichness of wall = 230mm

Height of wall = 3.20m

Length of wall = 44.40 m

Area of wall = Thichness of wall x Height of wall

= 0.230 x 3.20

= 0.736 m2

Unit weight of brick masonry = 20 KN/m3

Self weight of 230mm brick wall = Area of wall x Length of wall x Unit weight of brick masonry

= 0.736 x 44.4 x 20

= 653.568 KN

Therefore, Dead load of 230mm brick masonry at Ground floor = 653.568 KN

Total Dead load of 230mm brick masonry = 756.608 + 653.568

Therefore, Dead load of 230mm brick masonry = 1410.176 KN

Walls (115mm at Ground Floor)

Thichness of wall = 115mm

Height of wall = 3.20m

Length of wall = 25.20 m

Area of wall = Thichness of wall x Height of wall

= 0.115 x 3.20

= 0.368 m2

Unit weight of brick masonry = 20 KN/m3

Self weight of 230mm brick wall = Area of wall x Length of wall x Unit weight of brick masonry

= 0.368 x 25.20 x 20

= 185.472 KN

Therefore, Dead load of 115mm brick masonry at Ground floor = 185.472 KN

Walls (115mm at First Floor)

Thichness of wall = 115mm

Height of wall = 3.20m

Length of wall = 4 m

Area of wall = Thichness of wall x Height of wall

= 0.115 x 3.20

= 0.368 m2

Unit weight of brick masonry = 20 KN/m3

Self weight of 230mm brick wall = Area of wall x Length of wall x Unit weight of brick masonry

= 0.368 x 4 x 20

= 29.44 KN

Therefore, Dead load of 115mm brick masonry at First floor = 29.44 KN

Total Dead load of 115mm brick masonry = 185.472 + 29.44

Therefore, Dead load of 115mm brick masonry = 214.912 KN

Slab (First Slab)

Slab thickness = 150 mm

Area of slab = 14m x 7.90m

= 110.60 m2

Unit weight of RCC Concrete = 25 KN/m3

Self weight of slab = Area of slab x Thickness of slab x Unit weight of RCC Concrete

= 110.60 x 0.150 x 25

=414.75 KN

Therefore, Dead load of First slab = 414.75 KN

Slab (Roof Slab)

Slab thickness = 150 mm

Area of slab = 8.60m x 7.90m

= 67.94 m2

Unit weight of RCC Concrete = 25 KN/m3

Self weight of slab = Area of slab x Thickness of slab x Unit weight of RCC Concrete

= 67.94 x 0.150 x 25

= 254.775 KN

Therefore, Dead load of Roof slab = 254.775 KN

Total Dead load of slab = 414.75 + 254. 775

Therefore Dead load of slab = 669.525 KN

Individual Member loads:

Column = 220.50 KN

Beam = 252.75 KN

Wall (230mm) = 1410.176 KN

Wall (115mm) = 185.472 KN

Slab = 254.775 KN

Total Dead load of the building = 220.20 + 252.75 + 1410.176 + 185.472 + 254.775

= 2323.373 KN
