Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code
Sketch a G+1 floor residential plan, according to Vaastu Shastra, and list down the names of the structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.
Ans. The names of the structural drawings required to be provided to the site for construction.
- Centre line drawing
- Footing and column layout with reinforcement details
- Column schedule with reinforcement details
- Plinth beam layout with reinforcement details
- First floor beam layout with reinforcement details
- First floor slab layout with reinforcement details
- Lift pit and headroom reinforcement details
G+1 floor residential plan is attached
The sizes of the structural elements (Column, Beam, Slab, etc.,) and accordingly calculate the individual corresponding loads from the members as per IS code.
As per plan total 18 column with dimension ( 230 x 230)
one column weight
- Volume of concrete = 0.23 x 0.23 x 3.6 = 0.190 m^3 (height 3.6 m)
- Weight of concrete = 0.190 x 2400 = 457.05 kg
- Weight of steel (1% ) in concrete = 0.190 x 1% x 7850 = 14.91 kg
- Total weight of column = 457.05 + 14.91 = 471.96 kg = 4.63 KN
Therefore total column weight = 4.63 x 18 =83.35 KN
As per plan Beam with dimension ( 300 x 450)
Self weight of beam = unit weight of concrete X volume of beam
= 2400 X (0.3 X 0.45 )
= 324 kg / m Distributed load
The self weight of slab of 125mm thickness and span 10m X 10m is
Slab load calculation of 10m of spam = 0.125 x 10 x 2400 = 3000 kg = 29.43 KN
If we consider floor finish load 1 kN/m
Live load 2 KN/m
Wind load 2 kN/m as per IS 875
Therefore self weight of slab = 34.43 KN/ sq M
