Section Modulus calculation and optimization
OBJECTIVE :-
To Calculate section modulus and modify the section to improve overall section modulus of hood.
SECTION MODULUS :-
Section modulus is a geometric property for a given cross-section used in the design of beams or flexural members. Other geometric properties used in design include area for tension and shear, radius of gyration for compression, and moment of inertia and Polar moment of inertia for stiffness. Any relationship between these properties is highly dependent on the shape in question. Equations for the section moduli of common shapes are given below. There are two types of section moduli, the elastic section modulus and the plastic section modulus.
EXECUTION :-
Use the Section from your Hood design and calculate the section modulus using the formula S = I/y
S = Section Modulus
I = Moment of Inertia
y = distance between the neutral axis and the extreme end of the object
Come up with a new section that has improved the section modulus of the previous section and mention what change you made that has increased the strength.

CALCULATIONS :-
- Here we first calculate initial m1 and m2 value which came as m1= 4.838e005mm4 and m2= 148e006mm4

- After modification we have M1= 5.136e005 mm4 and M2= 152.833e006 mm4

Conclusion :-
We get value of section modulus Z1=1957mm3 and Z3=2077mm3
